They - "the others" - must feel like the ancient people: surrounded by an obscure and unfathomable force, which they used to call "Mare Magnum" (the Big Sea - Ocean).
The Norwegian chess genius is showing once more who's the King in the Chess Olympus. With a stunning 8.0 out of 10, Magnus leads the pack in Wijk aan Zee by 1.5 points, with three rounds to go. And it's not like he's being chased by a bunch of amateurs! World Champion Vishy Anand, #3 Levon Aronian and uber-strong Hikaru Nakamura are there in second place, hoping that the fashion-guy will sooner or later bite the dust.

It's been a wonderful tournament so far, with some games that will earn a place among classics.
Carlsen is going to be considered one of the strongest endgame players of all time. Anand has been able to make all of us chess fans go WOW when, in a totally amazing game, he beat #3 Aronian in Round 3. Nobody can beat Nakamura! He's been defending like a lion, and his play is getting more and more convincing.
