The event has a time control of 5 minutes, 5 minutes for each
player and of course the formidable Fawole John given a breathtaking odd
of 3 minutes deficit on his time ; thus at every game he plays every opponent gets a scintillating 5 minutes over his 2 minutes.
As of round 1, definitely the beginning a total of 4 wins and of course a bye.
At round 2 also a very scintillating performance by all
players showing their ingenious thoughts and of course 4 wins and
of course a bye.
The momentous time of true test, every player is keen on
playing on board 1 and not dropping from it. Similarly 4 wins, and a bye.
At round 4, it was obvious the epic game was of the captain
'Mela' and his predecessor' Fawole John' which culminated in a draw after a
relishing moment of plots, scheme and resounding unequivocal dispute over a
point.
Here it came round 5 the decider which could plummet a
player forth or sinking him down below, of course turning back hands of time
and even Galiloes theory of the earth being flat had to be refuted by certain
outstanding play stipulating that it obviously is round being proved on the
chess board. As expected a change of result 3 wins and a bye.
Round 6 who will take the day indeed the captain being
resilient in his determined mind played a difficult game coming from a piece
down to clinch a victory against a very ferocious Precious Ekwe, surmising the round with 4
wins and a bye.
Here it is the last and final round of course much
anticipated result, amusing as it could be the results were destined to the
players for their accorded best and of course the result were destined to the
players.
To end a much riveting tournament , the captain 'Mela' ,his
predecessor 'Fawole ' who is a grad student of the department of computer
science unibuja class of 2012 and also 'James' also a grad student of the department
of mathematics came first second and third respectively with individual point
of 6.5, 6.0 and 5.0. On behalf of
the coach, the valedictorian, the captain, the participants, and the
entire Unibuja chess team, this report was compiled by Teleh Elsa
Mela (captain). Wishing everyone a happy, delightful reading and a happy weekend.
